just saw this brief documentary on the federal reserver w/ some extra historical context as well.

all dramatic presentations aside, if you don't have a good understanding of what the federal reserver is / does, and you don't have a good understanding of what the US and World monetary systems are based on, now is a good time to start learning about it, it will profoundly impact us all in the years to come...

w00t! is on its way to becoming accepted English, at least by Merriam-Webster! I wish I could have used this in papers in college!

this is a pretty interesting collection of data from 2006 discussing gasoline price trends, consumption trends, car type ownership statistics, and a host of other interesting facts about automotive usage in the United States...

Apparently gas prices were their worst in 1981, though I'm not sure how they are now (2007) compared to 1981, I'm curious what we're at now...
